New Playable Character Coming to Nintendo’s ARMS!

If you haven’t yet had a chance to play Nintendo’s newest IP, the fighting game ARMS, you should know one thing: it’s rough.

Remember the early days of Mortal Kombat and Street Fighter when you knew all the combos and special moves and could kick the computer opponent’s ass three ways to Sunday, but the second your buddy or girlfriend picked up the controller to fight you and just mashed a bunch of buttons together with no style or finesse, you were the one with the kicked ass?

That’s ARMS to a T!

Regardless how you feel about the game, if you like it or love it, you’re getting more of it.  Today, Nintendo announced that a new playable character is coming to the game as free DLC.

Jiggles the Clown Lola Pop, the street-performing pugilist, is coming to the game.  She is described as “A well-traveled clown with a personality as colorful as her clothing, Lola Pop’s key ability is inflating her body like a balloon, providing her with great defensive qualities. With three new Arms and a new stage, players can look forward to developing new strategies whether competing locally against friends or taking on the world online.”

Also, if you haven’t yet played the game, now’s your chance.  This weekend, Nintendo is hosting another Global Testpunch.  You can download the Testpunch software from the eshop and simply log on anytime between 8 a.m. PT Friday, Aug. 25, through 2 p.m. PT Sunday, Aug. 27.
