Marvel’s Defenders Return to Avengers Academy!

If you have been paying attention to the events that have come to Avengers Academy (Marvel’s mighty mobile game), you’ll know that said events coincide, more often than not, with the MCU’s latest releases.  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 entering theaters saw those characters make their return to the game back in May while Spider-Man Homecoming signaled a new Spidey event for the game in July.  On the heels of an unrelated (read, filler) Armor Wars event, the game kicks off another chance to grab Daredevil and his pals just in time for the Netflix debut of The Defenders, which happens tomorrow.

Back in the game and allowing a second chance to nab them for players that may have missed them the first time are Daredevil, Iron Fist, Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, Hellcat, Misty Knight, Punisher, and Elektra.  Other heroes are being teased to return that you wouldn’t necessarily expect from the Netflix show but have a comic history with the team…Ghost Rider, anyone?  The previous outfits also return, along with some new ones for Hulk, Misty, Fist and a couple others.  You’ll also be able to score the set pieces for Josie’s, Alias Investigations, and a couple others from the first event.

New characters this time out include Foggy Nelson, Stick, Colleen Wing, and Claire Temple.

While the original storyline saw the Kingpin attacking Hell’s Kitchen, this one revolves around Madame Gao and the Hand, who come along to mix things up for the titular school.

And, of course, the next event is being teased as an often-hinted at school that brings with it more recruitable heroes than before.  Naturally, my mind goes first to the X-Men and their enormous roster of heroes, but the smart money here, following the existing trends in this game, points to the Inhumans and whatever school they may possess in Attilan.  Maybe after that, we’ll get an Agents of SHIELD mini-event before the inevitable Thor: Ragnarok event in November.

What do you think the next event could be?  Let us know below.
