According to Deadline, Hulu has ordered Marvel’s Runaways to series for a 2018 debut. The news comes as part of the Hulu’s upfronts today in Manhattan.
In case you aren’t up to speed on what “upfronts” are, its the presentations that TV networks make on their new fall seasons, featuring new shows, etc, to advertisers to get them to pay through the nose. The term upfront is because it gives the ad companies a chance to purchase ad space “up front” ahead of the series actual debut.
If you haven’t heard much about the show yet, you can familiarize with the show’s casting.
“Marvel’s Runaways” is the story of six diverse teenagers who can barely stand each other but who must unite against a common foe–their parents.
“Marvel’s Runaways” for Hulu is based on the comic created by the award-winning team of Brian K. Vaughan and Adrian Alphona.
