If you were a child in the late 80s, early 90s, then you undoubtedly are aware of the greatest TV block in animation history: The Disney Afternoon.
While the line-up changed slightly over the years, we saw such now-classics as Ducktales, Tale Spin, Darkwing Duck, Chip n Dale’s Rescue Rangers, Goof Troop, Gargoyles, etc.
Not all of them made it into video game form in that time, but the first four did, and now, like all good things of yore, they’re retro and cool again.
Thanks to the good folks at Capcom, all those games that were so amazing when we were young(er) are coming back for a new generation:
While all these games have been remastered for 1080p in their original 8-bit glory, I would have preferred to see a visual upgrade, like Ducktales Remastered. But still, six games bundled together (the four, plus sequels to Ducktales and Rescue Rangers), the new added features, such as Boss Rush and Time Attack modes, the unique rewind feature (which you see at work in the video) and an in-game museum with concept art, make the $19.99 price tag well worth it.
The Disney Afternoon Collection hits Xbox One, PC and PlayStation 4 on April 18. Hopefully we’ll see some Switch love in the future.
