After months of casting notices and reporting on the untitled X-Men show coming to Fox by Bryan Singer and Matt Nix (Burn Notice), we finally have a name to put with the face.
The show will be titled Gifted. As in Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters. Quite fitting a title, if you ask me.
The below tweet was sent out from one of the show’s producers:
As you can see in the picture, the cast now also features actor Joseph Morgan, who previously and famously was known to the world as alpha-vamp Klaus on The Vampire Diaries and The Originals.
And, as you can see from the below tweet, it now appears that actor Blair Redford, previously cast as a character named “Sam,” will actually be playing John Proudstar, better known as Thunderbird.
If you’re keeping score at home, that now brings our actual comic book character count to 3 (Blink, Polaris, & Thunderbird), with the mutant Eclipse admittedly being a creation for the show. Now, not to get too high on my horse, but this is one of the reasons that the Fox-Men stuff drives me a little batty. Why is there a need to create new mutants? Out of the literally hundreds of characters that have existed in the comic books, can you not just find one that serves the same purpose?
I digress. The show is expected to air this Fall on Fox.
