I don’t know if there’s ever been a series that has “evolved” more in the history of film than the Fast and Furious series. Some will think this is a good thing, others…not so much. We went from illegal street races and GTA to Kurt Russell leading a black-ops team to stop Charlize Theron, whose super power is remotely controlling cars. From high-octane crime drama to adrenaline-pumping science fiction.
I know Vin Diesel, who is producing this series now, has said they’ve signed up for a total of 10 films. At the rate they’re going with it, expect #10 to feature cameos from Optimus Prime and Bumblebee of the Transformers.
All that aside, these films deliver the action, and outside of the Expendables flicks, you won’t get this much testosterone anywhere else with Diesel, The Rock (are we still calling him that?), and Jason Statham each battling here for alpha male.
Like it or not, the movie hits theaters on April 14, 2017.
