Do you ever wonder if game producers actually listen to gamer feedback? Often it can feel like the decisions they make are not aimed at the end user. This seemed to be the case with the recent Bastion “buff.”

The forums on battle.net were blowing up with player complaints, followers of several popular Pro players with YouTube channels were jumping in, with many swearing they would quit unless Bastion was nerfed.
Two days later, Blizzard reacted.
“Over the past few nights I’ve played with, as and against Bastion,” Jeff Kaplan, the game’s director, wrote on the game’s forums. “My perception is that he is a little too powerful right now.”
He did go on to say however, that the reaction to the Bastion buff was blown out of proportion.
“I think complaints and praise of Bastion are both valid,” Kaplan said. “I don’t think he’s perfect yet. But I do think there is a high amount of hyperbole around this particular situation.”
The swift reaction is sure to please the masses, and goes to show that in this case at least, game producers do listen to the feedback. This can only strengthen the already solid fan base, and help Overwatch maintain its status as game of the year.
So crisis averted. Players will not be forced to abandon their favorite game due to Bastion as least. Who will be buffed next? Stay tuned….
