Well, the Inhumans TV show may not boast big stars like Vin Diesel, but it sure is garnering a whose-who of top-notch genre stars.
Marvel announced today that Black Bolt’s Inhuman queen, Medusa, will be played by none other than Serinda Swan. This is an actress that has dabbled in film, but is mostly known for her television appearances, most notably in Graceland, but most notably, for me, as Zatanna in Smallville.
If you aren’t familiar with Medusa, you can be forgiven here, as not everyone is aware of her, though she taken a much more prominent role in recent comic book stories. Her claim to fame is her purple cat-suit and red, prehensile hair. That’s right, think Dr. Octopus, but on top of her head. She’s basically Beyonce if the pop star’s weave could punch people out and climb walls.
Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s TV guru and producer on the show had this to say of Swan’s casting:
“Serinda empowers Medusa’s regal glory and still maintains a relatability that synced perfectly with the character. She is nothing short of wonderful.”

Marvel’s Inhumans will debut first in IMAX theaters this September before finishing its 8-episode run on ABC.
