A couple weeks ago, I convinced my wife to play me in Tetris. It turned out not to be the best move, as she smoked me 3 out of 5 games.
I love Tetris. I love the sounds, the music, the puzzling, fast-paced game play.
Today, Sega announced that their new game, a cross up between old-school Tetris and their Puyo Puyo IP (which is a lot like Dr. Mario), will be coming to Switch on April 25th. You can download the game for $30 or pick up the physical copy for $40.
The game looks like a blast, and the four-player brawl looks like just the right amount of fun. Sega highlighted several different play modes, which you can see below and a new trailer which you’ll find at the bottom.
Versus – Players square off against each other in their choice of game: Puyo Puyo or Tetris.
Swap – A more hectic version where players switch back and forth between Puyo Puyo and Tetris boards.
Fusion – Players juggle Puyos and Tetris blocks together on the same board.
Big Bang – Players race against each other to solve unique puzzles on every board.
Party – Think Vs. Mode, but with power-ups that help you or harm your opponent(s). Puyo or Tetris boards, but the puzzles feature special items that when activated either help players or harm their opponents.
