If you’ve ever shopped at GameStop for your gaming needs, chances are, you’re familiar with GameInformer, their exclusive magazine, which you get a free subscription to if you’re a Power-Up Rewards member.
Today, the magazine has just announced that their March cover story will be none other than the most anticipated game of the year (is that a stretch?), The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I mean, the game has already gone gold and doesn’t even release for another three weeks.
They have plenty of exclusive content to come (an entire month’s worth), so click the link below and head over there, where more information will be available in the coming days/weeks.
In the article itself (now available digitally), Eiji Aonuma, a long-time producer on the series, does narrow down where the game fits in the fable Zelda timeline (after Ocarina of Time) and while it was previously confirmed that Link will not have a companion (like Midna or a fairy) in this game, Aonuma teases that there is a mystery element in place in order to help guide the player, and it’s something he’s been working on for quite a while.
“In order to create more of a cohesive storyline, we added this element in there that will make it a bit more streamlined for every player. This is something I can’t reveal right now, but when you play you will find out. This idea that I am talking about is actually something I came up with when I first started developing the games. I have been harvesting this idea for 20-plus years.”
He also teases Princess Zelda’s range of emotions, including her ability to get angry at and scold Link, though not every player may experience this, due to the game’s non-linear play-ability.
