Remember that scene in the movie Dodgeball where the old guy says, “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball”? Playdius and the developers behind the new Strikers Edge took that to the next step. Rather than balls (or even wrenches), players take control of great warriors and chuck spears, shoot, arrows, and try …

Game developer NovaQuark is looking to redefine the gaming industry with the impending Dual Universe, an MMO that seems to cross WoW with Minecraft…and it doesn’t stop there.
The game had a HUGE success on Kickstarter and has reached a public pre-alpha stage for a very limited number of players in the near future. To celebrate, the rest of us just get a shiny new trailer to “ooh” and “aaah” at.
At the heart of Dual Universe is a truly innovative proprietary technology, which was developed to lay the foundations of the game. The CSSC (Continuous Single-Shard Cluster) manages one single universe with potentially millions of people interacting in it at the same time. Inside the CSSC is also a multi-scale voxel engine that enables players to physically modify the world; dig a hole, carve up a mountain or build anything they want, from space ships to orbital stations.
Novaquark is building a virtual world environment where they hope millions of people will be able to live exciting collective adventures within a vibrant and emergent universe where everything is possible. The company aims at creating a new form of entertainment, where participants are free to create their own stories and environment, economy, political systems, warfare, etc. The vision for Dual Universe is to create the first virtual online civilization, a vision close to Ernest Cline’s Oasis in Ready Player One.
If you aren’t familiar with Ready Player One, you will be soon, as the movie is on its way. In the meantime, since you can’t even play Dual Universe right now, go grab a copy of the book. You’ll thank me.

This game is the Ninja Warrior of video games.
Whether you’re a fan of Marvel’s heroes and villains (who isn’t?) or a fan of Capcom’s roster of games, (like Street Fighter, Mega Man, etc.), or just a fan of fighting games in general, this is your lucky day!
While it seems odd that a Marvel game with the word “Infinite” in the title would feature Ultron as the main villain over Thanos, Capcom has announced that this game will have a story mode, and the trailer below should shed some light onto that.
Also, we’ve got a few new characters coming to the fray, including Rocket Raccoon (he’s so hot right now), and any game that teams a version of Mega Man with Rocket Racoon is a winner to me.
The full press release follows. Stay after the credits to get a look at some new images from the game. Oh, and in case you don’t want to sift through the release, the game comes out September 19, on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
