Agents of SHIELD Season 5 to debut with 2-hour episode

So I’m a little behind on this one, but I figure it still bears reporting.

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, pretty much the only show I watch on ABC, will blast-off into space for its 5th season on Friday, December 1 with a double-stuffed episode.

That’s right, 2-hours of SHIELD goodness.

As you should be aware, last season’s cliffhanger left us wondering who kidnapped Coulson & Co. and why they appear to now be in space…?  Well, space has been officially confirmed as the location….it’s not just a funky wallpaper outside the window or an illusion, and the brief season 5 synopsis goes as follows:

Together, they will have to discover where they are and how to get home while the clock ticks out on humanity.  These secrets and mysteries are only the beginning for what is sure to be the most surprising and exhilarating S.H.I.E.L.D. adventure yet!

This news come hot on the heels of the announcement that actress Natalia Cordova-Buckley who plays Secret Warrior Elena “Yo-Yo” Rodriguez, has been promoted to a series regular, which means you’ll be seeing a LOT more of running really fast for a short time.

So, set your DVR’s accordingly, and try to choke down some more Inhumans in the meantime.
